SAP EWM Implementation at ASICS EDC

As part of the implementation of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) at ASICS' Northern European Distribution Center (EDC), I played a key functional role on behalf of myBrand, working in close collaboration with SAP and ASICS IT. This initiative was part of a broader strategic rollout aimed at harmonizing warehouse operations across Europe.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities:

  • Stock Migration from Infor to SAP EWM: I led the stock migration process from ASICS' legacy WMS (Infor) to SAP EWM. This involved ensuring data integrity and designing a robust migration strategy that enabled a seamless transition without business disruption. My efforts ensured the new system went live with accurate, consistent, and complete inventory data, providing the foundation for successful warehouse operations from day one.
  • Configuration of SAP EWM: I was actively involved in the functional configuration of SAP EWM. This included the setup of key warehouse processes such as inbound, outbound, picking, and packing, all aligned with ASICS’ global logistics standards.
  • User Training & Knowledge Transfer: To empower local teams, I facilitated the training of key users and supported the onboarding of external functional support consultants. 
  • Cross-Warehouse Process Alignment: An important part of the project involved aligning the Northern EDC with ASICS’ Southern European Distribution Center, which had already gone live on SAP EWM.
  • Go-Live & Hypercare Support: During the go-live phase, I supported end-users on-site, resolved issues in real-time, and collaborated with the SAP and ASICS teams to ensure system stability. I continued to deliver hypercare support in the weeks following go-live, focusing on incident resolution, process optimization, and end-user confidence.

After the go-live of the project I have spend a few months on-site to increase the efficiency of both the system and the users. These included system refinements, training sessions and adaptations to existing business processes to better meet the SAP EWM standard. 

Somthing that made this project standout was the collaboration with Magazino, who are a supplier of picking robots. These robots were active in the pick face area and were able to pick boxes alongside humans. The advantage of course being that these robots can work 18 hours /day.
